On Palm Sunday – the day on which Jesus rode into Jerusalem and was hailed as King by the people – Pope Leo XIV used his homily to denounce all wars by saying, “Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war.
Well said. Very disappointed with PLXIV - he should and surely does know better. Failing to protect the vulnerable is cowardice and dereliction of duty - pacifism can never be the answer to every situation. He's not as bad as the vulgar, impulsive and intellectually limited PF...but he clearly shares at least some of his dopey politics. I guess it's good he is transparent about that so we Catholics know to bring along a shaker of salt when reading his pronouncements.
AMEN! I am Catholic and seriously disturbed by the pope's remarks. He should not comment on issues about which he is ignorant. It is particularly disturbing to see that he takes Scripture out of context to make his point. Most people don't realize that it's out of context and will take him seriously. Thank you for the clarification.
Bravo!

I am amazed that the Pope is an American, from Chicago.
Leading the Church.
